In The Dirt

May 15:  2 was an unlucky number for the Lady Leafs Tuesday as both squads lost by scores of 2-8 for Varsity and 2-11 for JV. We had a great crowd on hand and we would like to thank all of our fans for showing up to support us tonight and throughout the entire season! Now we have our sites set on super duals on Saturday followed by regional playoffs on Wednesday @ Rock Island.

May 12:  Varsity Lady Leafs won both games today. First they defeated Sherrard 7-4 and then Abingdon 7-3. Great job ladies!  Next up is Moline on Tuesday 5/15 @ 4:30 - this will be the last home game of the season so be sure to come out and enjoy the game!

May 10:  Our Varsity Lady Leafs got revenge in Sterling tonight and won 11-3 thanks in part to a Darian Gillette GRAND SLAM! Great hitting tonight Ladies! JV started out the game with a home run by Sierra Ricketts and built up a 3-0 lead, but Sterling's JV took advantage of some generous opportunities in a 10 run 5th inning and the JV Lady Leafs lost 4-10.

May 9:  It was a beautiful senior night at the ballpark and we had a great turnout to celebrate one of the final home games for our Lady Leafs seniors. Varsity defeated Orion 4-1 and the JV game was canceled due to Orion not having enough players. Congratulations Seniors, let's keep it going!

May 8:  Tuesday was Pack the Park and Youth Softball Night as the Lady Leafs hosted Dixon. The varsity Dutchesses had a 5 run lead twice during the game but timely late hitting and home runs by Kassi Anderson, Jessica Murray and a GRAND SLAM by Haley Cathcart put the Lady Leafs ahead and they never looked back. Varsity won 13-7 and JV easily handled their Dixon counterpart in 5 innings by a score of 11-0. Great job ladies! Thank you to our fans for a great turnout!

The Monday, May 7th game at Alleman has been canceled.

May 3:  Lady Leafs were at Lasalle-Peru tonight for a conference battle. Varsity lost 1-3 and JV won 11-6 after a 30 minute 6th inning lightning delay. The ladies are off now until Monday when they travel to Alleman.

May 2: After a couple days of rain and some hard work by a few volunteers and a great field crew, the games were on Wednesday as the Lady Leafs got back on the winning track. Varsity shut out Streator 8-0 and JV also had a shut out winning 12-0. Great pitching and timely hitting were just what the doctor ordered!

April 30:  Junior Varsity was victorious 13-1 Monday at Milledgeville. The Varsity and Freshman/Sophomore teams didn't fare so well as both teams lost by scores of 3-4 and 8-17 respectively.

April 28:  The games scheduled for Sat 4/28 @Kaneland have been canceled.

April 26:  The Pirates got away with two Thursday night by defeating both of our softball teams. Varsity lost 1-3 and JV lost 3-4 on a chilly, windy night in Ottawa.
April 24:  It's a game of numbers and on this two-for-Tuesday it was no exception. We saw a lot of 1's and a lot of 3's against Sycamore. Both Varsity and JV won, and they both did so by scores of 13-3. Varsity took 5 innings while JV took 6 to finish early on a beautiful night for softball at J.F. Edwards Complex in Geneseo. Outstanding offensive efforts tonight ladies!

Taylor Wise was 3-for-3 with two homers and four RBIs. Darian Gillette also drove in three runs with a double and homer. Emily Zaderaka went 3-for-3 and had 3-RBI's,

April 23:  Our Lady Leafs hosted Rock Island tonight and both teams emerged victorious. Varsity won 6-5 and JV won 8-6. Both games were pretty similar as both teams were behind early, came back to take the lead and then held off late surges by both Rock Island teams. Good job ladies!
